GEBURTSTAG FUER EINE SCHOENE STIMME

Suedafrika – Johannesburg

Sinesipho Mnyango, ein wunderbarer lyrischer Sopran ist schon seit Jahren in Suedafrika prominent aufgetreten und ward auch international beachtet. Vor wenigen Jahren heiratete sie, zog sich etwas zurueck, bekam eine suesse kleine Tochter, an die sie hoffentlich ihr Gesangstalent vererbt hat – wir werden es sehen und hoeren – , trat for SITTOPERA letztes Jahr dreimal bei wohlbeachteten Konzerten auf – darunter in “Rugby und Oper”( ene sehr suedafrikanische Kombination) und will nun wieder auf der Opern- und Konzertbuehne voll praesent werden. Damen haben bekanntlich kein Alter aber einen 30. Geburtstag darf man erwaehnen. Freunde und Kollegen beschlossen Sinesipho verdientermassen mit einer Geburtstagsgala unter dem Titel “My journey” im RAND CLUB zu feiern.

Das Programm war mit sechszehn Stuecken aus Oper, Oratorium, Operette und Folk sehr beachtlich und bot eine grosse Bandbreite und Sinesipho die Moeglichkeit , die grossen Variationen und Moeglichkeiten ihrer Stimme zu praesentieren, die von ‘crossover” zu Soubrette, lyrisch-italienischem bis dramatisch-italienischem (Norma!) Sopranofach reicht. Gemeinsam mit ihr traten Phiwe Makaula, Tenor, Asisipho Petu, dramatischer Mezzosoprano, Ntsikelelo Mkhwana, Bariton, Onwaba Mjikeliso, Mezzosopran und Luthando Madikizela, Tenor auf. Alles schoene, gute und solide Stimmen, die zeigen wie viel Talente Suedafrika im Bereich des klassischen Gesangs besitzt. Alle Stuecke und Szenen wurden schoen gesungen und mit grosser Freude gespielt.Es waere auch international nicht leicht gewesen, ein derartiges Programm in dieser Stimmqualitaet zusammenzustellen. Viel mehr Beachtung sollte dies sowohl in Suedafrika als auch international finden. Marion Pillay begleitete einfuehlsam und bewaehrt am Klavier.

Das Geburtstagskonzert – unterstuetzt auch durch SITTOPERA – wurde durch Lerato Mofokeng und ihrem Team erstklassig organisiert. Die prominente PR und Medienlady Thato Moatshe fuehrte elegant als Zereminienmeisterin durch die gesamte Veranstaltung. Der in klassizistischer Pracht strahlende Ballsaal des Rand Club war bestens besucht.Das Publikum war wohlestimiert und spendete viel, wohlverdienten Applaus samt stehender Ovation. Naechstes Jahr hoffen wir, Sinesipho als Despina ( eine Traumrolle fuer sie!) in “Cosi fan tutte’zu erleben.

BIRTHDAY FOR A BEAUTIFUL VOICE

Sinesipho Mnyango, a wonderful lyric soprano has appeared since years prominently in South Africa and was also noted internationally. Some years ago she married, retreated a little bit, became mother of a sweet little daughter – hopefully she inherited her musical talent to her; we will see and hear it in due time – appeared last year three times for SITTOPERA in well noted concerts ( among them “Rugby and Opera”- a very South African combination) and likes to become again fully present at the concert and opera stage. Ladies of course do not possess an age but a 30th birthday may be mentioned. Friends and colleagues With very good reasons friends and colleagues decided to celebrate her at the RAND CLUB in Johannesburg with a birthday bash under the title “My journey” .

The program containing sixteen pieces from opera, oratory, operetta and folk was remarkable, offered a broad scenery and Sinesipho the possibility to represent the broad varieties and possibilities of her voice going from ‘crossover” to soubrette, lyric-Italian to dramatic-Italian ( Norma!) soprano voice. Together with her appeared Phiwe Makaula, Tenor, Asisipho Petu, dramatic Mezzo-soprano, Ntsikelelo Mkhwana, Baritone, Onwaba Mjikeliso, Mezzo-soprano and Luthando Madikizela, Tenor . All of them beautiful, fine and solid voices who showed how many talents South Africa does possess in the realm of classical and operatic singing. All pieces and scenes had been sung well and fine and played with great pleasure. It would also internationally not have been easy to put together such a program with that kind of voice quality. The birthday bash – also supported by SITTOPERA – had been very well organized by Lerato Mofokeng and her team. Prominent PR and media-lady Thato Moatshe elegantly guided as “Master of Ceremony “ through the whole event. The ballroom of the RAND CLUB in its Edwardian splendour was very well booked. The audience was well esteemed and gave a lot of well deserved applause including standing ovations. Next year we sincerely hope to experience Sinesipho as Despina ( a dream role for her !) in “Cosi fan tutte’.
