Busisiwe Ngejane – Ihre Stimme ein Segen .- Opernkonzert in Kapstadt am 13.September 2025
Busisiwe – und der Name bedeutete die segensreiche, ein Segen fuer die Familie und Freunde ist ein suedafrikanischer lyrischer Sopran, die bereits international sehr erfolgreich ist, vor allem In Grossbrittanien .Von Zeit zu Zeit kehren suedafrikkanische Saenger in ihre Heimat zurueck um Familie und Freunde aufzusuchen und um sich dem heimatlichen Publikum zu prsesentieren. Daher hat Busisiwe Ngejane SITTOPERA ™ angesprochen und dieses Unternehmen, das Konzerte im Bereich der klassischen Musik und der Oper organisiert , sprach den vornehmen “The Cape Town Club” an, der fuer die Kuenste und vor allem die Musik viel uebrig hat, sprach gute Pianisten an – Kapsadt ist durchaus reich an guten,sehr guten Pianisten – und Busisiwe sprach einen Tenor und einen Bariton an, um sie auf ihrer Reise duerch die Welt der Oper und Operette zu begleiten und nach einigen Wochen stand das Konzept des Konzertes fertig da. Es folgten einige kleine Friktionen da eben so gut wie alles auf der Buehne “passieren’kann aber Busisiwe Ngejane ,lyrischer Sopran, Vuyani Hallam, Tenor und Luvo Rasemeni, Bariton konnten sich gemeinnsam mit dem prominenten Pianisten Jose Diaz praesentieren.
Das Konzert startete mit allen drei Saengern Camille Saint-Saens praesentiertend und zwar die siebente Kantate aus dem Weihnachstoratorium “Tecum principium” . Dann machte Busisiwe einen grossen Sprung in den Pazifik indem sie die fordernde Koloraturarie der Mabel aus Gilbert & Sullivan’s Musical “The pirates of Penzance” vortrug. Die musikalische reise fuehrte zurueck nach Italien nach Mantua mit dem Duet “Piangi Fancuilla” des Rigoletto und der Gilda; praesentiert duch Busisiwe und Luvo.Von Verdi zu Donizetti , zu seiner vielleicht populaersten Oper “L’elisir d’amore” mit dem Duet zwischen Adina und Nemorino “ Esulti por la barbara” , praesentiert von Busisiwe und Vuyani und dann die Schlussarie der Adina , indem sie ihrer Liebe zu Nemorino bekraeftigt, “Prendi , per me sei libero”.
Von Italien und Donizetti zu Mozart, die folgenden vier Stuecke kamen alle aus Mozartschen Opern, zuerst aus Don Giovanni ‘’ “La ci darem da mano”, das Duet zwischen Zerlina und Don Giovanni, praesntiert durch Luvo und Busisiwe, dann Don Giovanni’s Serenade “Deh, vieni alla finestra” , von Luvo gesungen .From Schuerzenjaeger Don Giovanni zum edlen roemischen Kaiser Titus Vespasian mit seiner Arie “Ah se fosse”, praesntiert von Vuyani und dann das Duet Ferrandound Guglielmo, praesentiert durch Vuyani und Luvo “Secondate, aurette’ aus Cosi fan tutte’’; heutzutage eine der populaersten Opern aber bei der Uraufffuehrung vom Publikum als viel zu frivol abgelehnt.
Von Mozart dann zur Grand Opera Francais mit Charles Gounod ‘Romeo Juliette” und ihrer grossen Arie “Je veux vivre”praesentiert durch Busisiwe . Sie will leben, voll leben aber wir wissen bereits, sie wird’s nicht ueberleben .Uebrigens, die Frage des traditionellen opernquiz war, wie oft die “Romeo und Julia’Geschichte vertont wurde. Die Zuehoererschaft bewies Kompetenz als da die richtige Antwort “Siebzehn”ist ( eine Toleranz von plus/minus Drei wurde vom Master of Ceremony eingeraeumt) und die gewinnnende Antwort lautete “Sechszehn”. Es folgte Musette’s Aria “Quando m’en vo” aus “La Boheme’. Die musikalische reise ging dann ueber den Atlantik nach New York mit Maria’s Lied “I am pretty” – aus West Side Storie – keine Luege, wenn man sich die elgenate, fesche Busisiwe anschaut – und dann gabe s dasz kitschige, aber fesche Liebesduet Hanna-Danilo “Lippen schweigen, s’fluestern Geigen”, praentiert von Busisiwe und uyo, aber auch Luvo stimmte spassig mit ein.
Eine wohlverdiente Zugabe wurde von allen drei Saengern praesntiert.Das trinklied “Brindisi’( “Libiamo …”) aus Verdi’s “La Traviata”. In Summe wurden vierzehn Stuecke gesungen. Das war ein durchaus fordnerdes programm auf hohem Niveau.
Busisiwe Ngejane hat eine wunderbare, klare und starke, nichtsdestoweniger elegante Stimme, sie hat eine sehr gute Buehnenpraesenz, ein elbhaftes Spiel und Statur. Vuyani Hallam und Luvo Masemeni haben noch nicht internationale Aufmerksamkeit erhalten; verdienen diese aber. Beide haben schoene, kraeftige aber dennoch elegante Stimmen und besitzzen eine ausgezeichnete Buehnenpraesenz. Allle drei spielten gut zusammen und man sah es ihnen an, dasz es eine Freude fuer sie war, ein wirklich grossartiges, forderndes, populares aber dennoch sehr serioeses Program zu praesentieren. Jose Diaz war eine ausgezeichneter Begleiter am Klavier, bei ihm und mit ihm sind Saenger in den besten Haenden. Harald Sitta als Master of Ceremony fuehrte in lebendiger und witziger Art und Weise durch das Programm und erzaehlte Anekdoten und Gschichterln rund um die komponisten, die Werke und die Stuecke. “The Cape Town Club” oeffnete seinen eleganten Ballsaal fuer dieses Konzert und die Mitarbeiter unter Fuehrung des Geschaeftsfuehrers Phil Thurston bewiesen sich als hilfreich und sehr gut arbeitend.
Die Zuhoererschaft war wie eine Zuhoererschaft sein sollte wenn sie mit einer ausgezeichneten Auffuehrung konfrontiert ist. Sehr lebhaft, die ca 80 Gaeste machen Laerm wie 800 und gaben den Kuenstlern das was sie verdienen: eine Menge donnernden Applauses, stehende ovation, Bravorufe, und ein sehr gefuehlsreiches, positives “feed back”.Saenger und Instrumentalisten im Bereich der klassischen Musik und der Oper verdienen das, durch viele Jahre hinduch habben sie zu lernen, zu studieren , zu ueben um eben ein sehr hohes Niveau zu erreichen. Sie verdienen ein sehr intensives und positives “feed back”. Noch lange nach dem Konzert genossen viele gaeste die Gastfreundschaft der Bar des “The Cape Town Club” . Ein sehr lebhafter, kultivierter und eleganter Samstag Nachmittag in einem der schoensten Gebaeude einer sehr schoenen Stadt; Kapstadt.

Busisiwe Ngejane – A blessing be her voice
Operatic concert in Cape Town on the 13th of September
Busisiwe – and this name means the blessed one, the blessing for the family and Friends is one lyric South African soprano, very successful internationally especially in the United Kingdom .From time to time South African singers return home to visit family and friends and to present themselves to audiences of their home country. Therefore Busisiwe Ngejane contacted SITTOPERA ™ and this classic music and opera event management enterprise contacted the noble “The Cape Town Club” which is very supportive of the arts and especially music, contacted good piano players – Cape Town is quite rich of good, very good pianists and Busisiwe contacted one tenor and one baritone to accompany her on her journey through the world of opera and operetta and after some weeks the concept of the concert was ready. Following the usual frictions as anything can happen on stage but Busisiwe Ngejane ,lyric soprano Vuyani Hallam, tenor and Luvo Rasemeni, baritone could present themselves accompanied by the prominent pianist Jose Diaz.
The concert stared with all three presenting Camille Saint-Saens piece number seven “Tecum principium” from this Christmas oratory. Then Busisiwe made a big leap into the pacific presenting the demanding coloratura aria of Mabel from Gilbert & Sullivan’s musical “The pirates of Penzance”. The musical journey went back to Italy, to Mantua with the duet “Piangi Fancuilla” of Rigoletto and Gilda; presented by Busisiwe and Luvo . From Verdi to Donizetti to his maybe most popular opera “L’elisir d’amore” with the duet between Adina and Nemorino “ Esulti por la barbara” , presented by Busisiwe and Vuyani and the final aria of Adina in which she confirms her love towards Nemorino, “Prendi , per me sei libero”.
From Italy and Donizetti to Mozart, the following four pieces came all from Mozart operas; first from Don Giovanni “La ci darem da mano”, the duet between Zerlina and Don Giovanni, presented by Luvo and Busisiwe, then Don Giovanni’s serenade “Deh, vieni alla finestra” sung by Luvo. From the licentious Don Giovanni to the noble Roman emperor Titus Vespasian with his aria “Ah se fosse”, performed by Vuyani and then the duet of Ferrando and Guglielmo, performed by Vuyani and Luvo “Secondate, aurette’from Cosi fan tutte; today one of the most popular operas but at the 1st performance shunned by the audience as the plot was judged to be much to frivolous.
From Mozart then to the Grand Opera Francais with Charles Gounod ‘Romeo Juliette”; her great aria “Je veux vivre”presented by Busisiwe . She wants to live but we know, she won’t. By the way the traditional opera quiz question was how many times the “Romeo and Juliette” plot was set in music and the audience proved its competence as the correct answer is “seventeen “ ( with a tolerance given by the MC of =/- three) and the winning answer was “sixteen”. Then followed Musette’s aria “Quando m’en vo” from “La Boheme’. The musical journey then took a turn over the Atlantic ocean and landed in New York with Maria’s aria “I am pretty” from “West side Story”- no lie if you look at the elegant, handsome Busisiwe – and then followed the kitschy but lovely love duet “Lips are silent, violins whisper” between Hanna and Danilo, presented by Busisiwe, Vuyo but also Luvo joined for the fun of it.
A well earned encore was presented by all three singers with the drinking song “Brindisi’( “Libiamo …”) from Verdi’s “La Traviata”. In sum fourteen pieces .That was a quite demanding program on a very high level.
Busisiwe Ngejane has a wonderful, clear and strong but nevertheless elegant voice, she possesses a very good stage presence, a vivid play and has stature. No surprise that she is successful internationally. Vuyani Hallam and Luvo Masemeni have not yet reached international presence but richly deserve it. Both have fine, powerful but nevertheless elegant voices and an excellent stage presence. All three played well together and you could see that it was a joy for them to present a really great, demanding, popular but nevertheless serious programme. Jose Diaz was an excellent accompanist. With him a singer is in the best of hands. Harald Sitta as MC guided through the programme in a vivid and witty way, telling anecdotes and stories around the composers, the operas and the pieces. “The Cape Town Club” opened its very elegant ball room venue for this concert and the staff under the leadership of Phil Thurston, the general manger, was very helpful and effective.
The audience was as an audience shall be when confronted with excellence performances. Very vivid; the around 80 guests made noise like 800 and gave the performers what they deserve; a lot of thundering applause, standing ovations, “shouts of “bravo” and a very emotional, positive feedback. Singers and instrumentalists in the realm of classical and operatic music deserve that; they have to study and learn and train through many, many years in order to reach a very high level .They deserve a very intense and positive feedback. Even long after the concert many guests enjoyed the hospitality of the bar of “The Cape Town Club” .Avery vivid, cultivated and elegant Saturday afternoon on one of the most splendid buildings of a very splendid town; Cape Town.
