MEDITATIONEN IM MONDSCHEIN – KLAVIERKONZERT LAETITIA ORLANDI IN JOHANNESBURG (26.8.2023)

Laetitia Orlandi, die gemeinsam  mit  Dr Lisa Engelbrecht und Marnus Greyling  sowie Paul Ferreira die “ Quarta “der suedafrikanischen Spitzenpianisten bildet hat unter dem Namen “Meditationen im Mondschein”ein neues Konzertprogramm zusammengestellt, das im Juli von ihr in Pretoria vorgestellt wurde und nunmehr durch SITTOPERA ™ in Johannesburg. Sie hat einige akademische Abschluesse und auch den (seltenen) Doktor der Musik. Sie ist in Suedafrika und international als offizieller Begleitpianist  bei prominenten Veranstaltungen, wie zB der  5. und 6 UNISA nationalem Klavierwettbewerb und der 35. Hans Gabor Belvedere Gesangswettbewerb aufgetreten.Derzeit ist sie stellvertretender Dekan an der Fakultaet fuer Kuenste und Design des TUT ( Tshwane University of Technology) in Pretoria taetig.   Die praesentierten Kompositionen  drehen sich um Mondschein, Traeume und Liebe. Der musikalische Bogen spannte sich  vom Barock bis Sergej Prokofiev.

Begonnen wurde mit dem Preludium und Fuge in C-moll von Johann Sebastian Bach , sodann Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Mondscheinsonnate”, die uebrigens zu Beethoven’s Lebzeiten nie diesen Tittel hatte.Die Romantik war mit Robert Schumann’s “Traeumerei” aus den “Kinderszenen”. Frederic Chopin’s “Ozean”Etude in C-moll  und Franz Liszt’s “Liebestraum”vertreten, der Impressionismus  durch Claude Debussy’s ( der es uebrigens zurueckwies, als impressionist bezeichnet zu werden) “Reverie”und “Clair de Lune” vertreten und die russische Musik, die wir der Politik zum Trotze eben nicht boykottieren wollen, mit dem “Harfenpreludium”Sergej Prokofiev’s.

Auf dem wundervollen Konzertfluegel von “Ritmueller” der Anglikanischen St Franziskuskirche spielte Laetitia Orlandi das anspruchsvolle Programm elegant, einfuehlsam und bewegend. Das aus Klavierenthusiasten bestehende Publikum war begeistert und ergriffen. Als Zugabe wurde noch der “Minutenwalzer “ – im franzoesischen als Walzer fuer ein Huendlein  bezeichnet -von Frederic Chopin vorgetragen. Ein Bukett von zu Recht sehr bekannten und popuaeren Stuecken. Das Publikum  geizte nicht mit Appluas und Bravorufen. Harald Sitta als “Zeremonienmeister”- ja so heisst das in Suedafrika – stellte die einzelnen Stuecke und Komponisten kurz und informativ vor. Nach dem Konzert wurde Laetitia Orlandi  bei Champagner und “Biltong’auch kulinarisch gefeiert. Ein gediegen verbrachter Samstag Nachmittag.

MOONLIGHT MEDITATIONS – PIANO CONCERT BY  LAETITIA ORLANDO IN JOHANNESBURG

 Laetitia Orlandi, who together with   Dr Lisa Engelbrecht and Marnus Greyling  and also  Paul Ferreira forms the “ Quarta “ of South African top pianists did under the name of “Moonlight meditations” design a new concert program, which was presented by her in July in  Pretoria and now by  SITTOPERA ™ in Johannesburg. She possesses  several academic grades including the (rare) Doctor of music. She appeared already both in South Africa and internationally as  official accompanist at outstanding events, for example  the 5^th and 6^th UNISA National  piano competition and the 35^th  Hans Gabor Belvedere singing composition. At present she is assistant dean of the faculty of Arts & Design at  TUT  ( Tshwane University of Technology) in Pretoria .  The compositions presented circle around moonshine, dreams and love. The musical ark  went from the baroque to  Sergej Prokofiev.

The concert started with the prelude and fugue in C-sharp minor by  Johann Sebastian Bach , then  Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Moonshine sonata”, which by the way during beethoven’s lifetime never had this title. Romantic music was represented by  Robert Schumann’s “ Dreaming around” from the “Children’s scenery” , Frederic Chopin’s  “Ocean” etude in c-minor and Franz Liszt’s “ Lovedream”, musical impressionism represented by  Claude Debussy’s ( who by the way strictly opposed to be called an impressionist) “Reverie”and “Clair de Lune” and the Russian music, which despite politics we don not want to boycott with the “Harp”prelude by Sergej Prokofiev’s.

On the wonderful large  concert piano by “Ritmueller” of the St Francis Anglican Church  Laetitia Orlandi played this demanding program in an elegant, sensitive and moving way.The audience, consisting of piano enthusiasts was excited and moved. As encore the “Minute waltz” – in French called the waltz for a puppy by  Frederic Chopin was played. An assembly of rightfully well known and popular pieces.  The audience did not be mean with applause and shouts of bravo.  Harald Sitta as MC introduced the various pieces and composers  in a short and informative way. After the concert  Laetitia Orlandi  was celebrated  culinary with Champagne and “Biltong’ . A fine spent Saturday afternoon.
